Courses Overview

The craft courses are a hands-on learning experience. During the course you will assemble, and hand pour you own candles to take home with you.

What Experience do I need for this Workshop?

This workshop is designed for complete beginners and also for those with a little or maybe 'lapsed' experience candle making. As there is a maximum of five students to one Tutor on this workshop, tutoring can be tailored to each student to ensure that you get the best out of each workshop.

Location and Times

The workshop is held at the purpose designed FelinFach Dye Studio in the SA37 post code area, near to the villages of Boncath and Crymych and the coastal towns of Newport and Cardigan in West Wales. Driving directions and a link to Google Maps will be emailed to you in advance of the workshop. Please note that our rural location means that there is no public transport nearby. There is free parking onsite for one car per student.

The daily workshops begin at 10.00am and finish at 12.30pm.

Lunch and Snacks

We provide a selection of snacks (tea, coffee, bottled water, crisps, biscuits and chocolate) all individually wrapped or bottled.  We do not certify that these snacks are nut or gluten free. Please bring your own pack lunch as our location is some 3 miles from a shop.

On the Day - What to Expect

• Suitable for complete beginners and those with a little experience.
• Guided tuition with an experienced candle maker, 2.5 hours 10am to 12.30pm.
• Workshops in a purpose designed Candle Studio.
• One Tutor and a max of five persons.
• All materials and equipment provided.
• Printed workshop contents to take home.
• Take home three quality candles (worth over £30) you have made yourself.

Mobile Reception

Mobile phone reception is patchy – EE currently has the best local reception. If urgent communication is required, we can arrange a broadband call via WhatsApp!

Booking your Craft Courses

Workshop bookings can only be made via our website, FelinFach.com - if, for whatever reason, you cannot use our website, please email and we will assist you to complete your workshop booking.

Booking and Payment Confirmation

Payment for the workshop is due in full at the time of booking. On our website, you can pay using debit and credit cards, PayPal, with FelinFach.com Gift Vouchers and with our Clearpay instalment plan. You will receive a receipt by email which will confirm your workshop booking, the dates of the workshop and the amount paid. Any booking is considered provisional until payment in full is received.

If you decide to use the Clearpay instalment payment plan, you can pay interest free over a number of instalments – click here for details. Paying with Clearpay is considered equivalent to paying in full.

Discount Codes

We do not accept any discount codes on workshop fees.

Cancellations and Refunds Policy

We will refund you in full if the Government requires us to cancel/postpone a workshop for whatever reason.

Cancelations by You

If you to cancel your booking:

1. Within 14 days of the original booking, we will refund the full course fee.
2. Less than one week before the workshop, no refund is available. (Subject to point one above).
3. A 'No-show' on the day with no notice is not refundable
4. More than two weeks but less than eight weeks before the workshop, if we are able to resell your place, we offer refund of the workshop fee less an administrative fee of £25.
5. Over eight weeks before the workshop, we will refund in full.
6. If you decide to postpone your booking to a later date, the dates referred to in points 1 to 5 above apply to the original booking date. 

We maintain a ‘waiting list’ for all workshops and will aim to replace any cancellation with another student.

We do not cancel workshops for any reason except entirely unavoidable events such as if the Workshop Tutor is physically unable to teach the workshop through sickness or injury or extreme weather conditions. Should we have to cancel a workshop, students will be offered an alternative workshop date or a full refund. If a workshop is cancelled by us, we regret that we will not accept responsibility for travel, accommodation or any other related expenses.

Student Conduct

We retain the right to refuse to accept individuals on to any workshop. If the workshop has already been booked the workshop fee will be refunded.  

Photography

We may take photographs of students and their work for the purposes of marketing. We will request permission at the time to allow us to use any images for marketing purposes.

Health and Safety and Insurance

Your workshop materials will include our health and safety procedures. We request that you read them thoroughly. In any event, the first 15 minutes of any of our workshops will be spent familiarising everyone with health and safety rules.

We are fully insured for £5m of Public Liability insurance and the certificate is available for inspection at all times in the Natural Candle Studio.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with any aspects of the workshop, please bring it to the attention of the Tutor at the time. We will try to resolve any issues whilst the workshop is progressing. You will be asked to provide a Review of the workshop by email after you have completed the workshop. Feedback is important to us, whether it is positive or not.
